MP to write to council and Scottish Government over King Edward bridges

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid is writing to Aberdeenshire Council and the Scottish Government in efforts to help secure repairs to flood-damaged bridges in the King Edward area.

Mr Duguid will also look into options with the UK Government when Parliament returns this week.

Increase in National Living Wage welcomed by MP

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has said the Conservative UK government has shown again it is "on the side of working people" after the Chancellor announced an increase in the National Living Wage. 

Sajid Javid said that there would be a rise of 6.2% to £8.72 an hour from April 2020. 

Christmas Waste Collections

In the run up to and during Christmas and New Year there will be a lot of waste produced, from card to cardboard and plastic packaging to food packaging and eagerly ripped up wrapping paper.

David Duguid has offered to help "in any way he can" after sitting down with the volunteers who are trying to put together a local contest. 

MP welcomes re-opening of Auchmill Bridge

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has welcomed the re-opening of a local bridge that has been repaired a week ahead of schedule. 

Auchmill Bridge, just off the A947 near Plaidy, had been shut for several weeks after it was damaged in a collision with a vehicle. 

Banff Minor Injuries Unit given reprieve

I am very happy to see that the AHSCP have taken on board representations made by myself and Peter Chapman MSP​ last month and have decided to give the minor injuries unit in Banff a reprieve while they collect more information.

There has been a lot of coverage in recent weeks about the future of minor injury units here in Banff and in Turriff.

 

Understandably, there has been concern about any suggestion of a downgrade in services provided locally. 

 

The fight to keep Gamrie connected

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has met residents in Gardenstown to discuss transport and digital connectivity in coastal communities.

 

The meeting was originally planned to discuss plans to cut the 273 Saturday bus service linking the village to Banff and Fraserburgh.
