MP ‘disgusted’ by further vandalism incidents
Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has expressed his disgust at vandalism of the Fairy Woods at Aden Country Park, following a similar incident at the Den sensory playpark in Turriff and a third in Peterhead.
The Fairy Woods and outdoor learning space at Aden Country Park fell victim to vandals this week, and many of the properties as well as the seating area used for the outdoor sessions have been broken beyond repair.
The fairies first moved into Cruden Bay when Fiona set up homes for them in the woods to benefit her granddaughter and other local youngsters. Unfortunately, the fairies were evicted from Cruden Bay but were delighted to be able to set up home in Aden Country Park, with some fairies staying behind and moving to a different location in Cruden Bay.
The Aden Fairy Woods and Forest School Facebook page is open for donations to help repair the damage.
Anyone with information about the latest vandalism should call 101.
Scottish Conservative MP for Banff and Buchan David Duguid said:
“This is the third incident of vandalism against parks and attractions in the last couple of weeks.
“The mindless thugs behind this have no idea the damage they are causing beyond the physical as people’s hard work and dedication are trashed.
“If anyone wants to donate materials to help repair the Fairy woods, please contact them on Facebook and of course if anyone has information regarding the vandalism, contact 101.”
