LOCAL MP HAILS NEW EASYJET SERVICES
Banff and Buchan MP has hailed the launching of a new easyJet route from Aberdeen to Manchester and the double-daily flights to Gatwick.
easyJet, Scotland’s largest airline, has today launched the first flights on its seasonal summer route from Aberdeen to Manchester. The airline’s double-daily service to London Gatwick has also recently taken off for the summer season.
Both routes will provide stronger domestic connectivity from Scotland to key cities across the UK whether customers are looking for a city break, to reconnect with family or friends, a convenient business connection, or to grab a connecting flight to a range of destinations across Europe. And for those wishing to explore more of Scotland this summer, Aberdeen offers the perfect mix of vibrant city life and natural beauty from museums, art galleries, and nature trails to designer shopping and whiskey tasting experiences.
Flights to Manchester take off today for the first time this year and are now operating up to five times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays between 28 March and 28 October 2022, providing key connectivity between the regions throughout the summer, with fares available from just £22.99*.
Additionally, the double-daily service to London Gatwick is also now operating with flights departing in the morning and afternoon throughout the summer season between 28 March and 29 October 2022, providing convenient connections to London and the south of England.
David, MP for Banff and Buchan has long campaigned for more air connections between Aberdeen and the rest of the UK.
Commenting, he said,
“It is fantastic to see yet the new seasonal route opening up to Manchester from Aberdeen along with the new double-daily Gatwick flight.
“It was not too long ago that services were being removed from Aberdeen - even before Covid - and that has been detrimental to the airport and the local economy so this reversal in trend is welcome.
“Of course this is great news for tourists and business travellers from the region but I also look forward to more people travelling here for the business and tourism opportunities this region has to offer.
“I look forward to seeing further new connections announced and for Aberdeen Airport to reach new heights in the future.”
