David Duguid meets with Gamrie residents

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid has met residents in Gardenstown to discuss transport and digital connectivity in coastal communities.

 

The meeting was originally planned to discuss plans to cut the 273 Saturday bus service linking the village to Banff and Fraserburgh.

I was saddened to hear of the death of a creel fisherman after an incident off the Banffshire coast last week.

 

Media reports suggested that a fellow fisherman had alerted the emergency services after the man fell into the water near Macduff.

As an MP with a large rural constituency, I like to know how communities outside towns feel about their safety.

Rural crime is on the increase and I know that acquisitive theft – for example tractors or metal from less well protected farms – is a large part of that.

David Duguid hails Review into screening for 22q

Following on from my request last week of the Prime Minister to support calls for 22q11 Syndrome to be added to the newborn blood spot test, I met yesterday with Baroness Blackwood, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health, to discuss the condition.
