Earlier this month I hosted a public meeting at the Baden Powell Centre in Turriff to discuss healthcare issues in the area. 

 

The meeting was very well attended and I thank all the residents who took the time to come out and add to the discussion on this topic.

In my last column I highlighted the latest tragic drugs deaths figures in Scotland which laid bare the scale of the issue. 

 

Since then, it was reported that alcohol related deaths in Scotland rose to 1,245 – the highest in 13 years and an increase of 55 compared to 2020.

It’s always great to get out and about to enjoy the various events Banff and Buchan has to offer throughout the Summer.

This Summer has been particularly special with many such events being cancelled in recent years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
